Charisma Carpenter and Ty Olsson have been cast as leads in the indie thriller "Crash Site."

The story centers on a family vacation in the woods, during which a couple must fight their way back to civilization through injuries, creepy critters and wild animals after their Jeep crashes. Jason Bourque is directing the film, which recently began principal photography in Vancouver.

Jack and Joseph Nasser ("Damage") are producing.

Repped by APA and John Carrabino Management, Carpenter has been a regular on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel" and "Veronica Mars." She now appears in Lionsgate's action film "The Expendables."

Olsson, repped by Pacific Artists Management and Roar, has been a regular on the series "Men in Trees," "Battlestar Galactica" and "Defying Gravity." In features, he has appeared in "2012," "Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem" and "Just Friends."

The stars are coming out again for yet another worthy cause.

A group of actors, musicians, athletes and other celebs will be participating in “Stand Up To Cancer” on September 10. The event is aimed at raising money to accelerate innovative cancer research and will be simulcast live and commercial-free on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Bio, Discovery Health, E!, G4, HBO, HBO Latino, MLB Network, mun2, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, The Style Network, TV One and VH1.

Reese Witherspoon, Sofia Vergara, Christina Applegate, Michael C. Hall, Jim Parsons, Gabrielle Union, Seth MacFarlane, David Boreanaz, Mandy Moore and Dr. Mehmet Oz are just a few of the celebs confirmed to appear.

“We are eternally grateful for the remarkable support we’ve received from the entire entertainment community. We couldn’t do this without everyone’s help – from the networks and cable channels donating the airtime to our celebrity volunteers participating in the show and a lot of other people in between,” said Sherry Lansing, one of the co-founders of “Stand Up To Cancer.”

There will be live performances from recording artists and information presented by stars meant to educate viewers on cancer and cancer research. The show is set to air at 8 p.m. ET and PT, and 7 p.m. CT.

Sure, he was only in one episode of Angel, but he's still a part of the show.

Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner has really taken off in Hollywood. The handsome “Hurt Locker” star is on the cover of the new Men’s Health and shares how he started his acting career on stage with “nineteen years of emotional repression” pouring out of him, which led to his emotional and powerful turn in 2010’s Best Picture. Later this year he can be seen in Ben Affleck’s next directorial effort, "The Town."

But, aside from acting, Jeremy just wants to stay true to himself. “My plan isn’t to be able to do what I want to do when I want to do it, and not because I have to," he told the mag. "I call it my ‘pull-chute’ plan. That’s a military thing, you know … time to pull chute, like, time to kind of float and enjoy the view.”
